“Beloved, while I was making every effort to write you about our common salvation, I felt the necessity to write to you exhorting that you contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all handed down to the saints.” (Jude 3, LSB)

LSB Handy Size Red Letter Review

Posted on October 15, 2024June 14, 2025 by dmgreen99

While the Legacy Standard Bible Inside Column Reference is my favorite and I already did a review of that one, second on the list is the LSB Handy Size Red Letter. At first, I wasn’t sure I was going to like this one very much because it does not have any of the footnotes or cross references in it… But that is what makes this edition so great. Every workman needs different tools for different jobs and so it is with this pastor. There are times when it just makes more sense to carry a Bible that is smaller into the pulpit, or wherever I need it.

As the name implies, the words of Christ are in red. The lettering is a generous 9.5 point font. Plus, there is a wide margin, which makes it great for adding notes. The text is verse by verse single column which I really like, and makes it very easy to preach from.

This Bible has tables in the back for weights, measures, and monetary units. There are also some blank pages in the back for adding notes.

My copy in the pictures is genuine cowhide leather, which I purchased from Christianbook.com at a discount because it was “Imperfectly Imprinted.” However, I also own a faux leather version, which I have had for a lot longer. They are all well made and in fact, I have given a couple of the faux leather versions away to others including my ten year old son and they are all holding up well.

For times when you want to just hold a copy of the Word of God, this is a great Bible and the price is right. Check it out at https://316publishing.com/collections/lsb-handy-size-red-letter
