I love this time of year – especially getting my hands dirty in the soil and working in the garden. My garden is not as large here as what it was in Ohio but we still have one here. Today as I was planting some more vegetables I noticed some of my cucumber plants are smaller than the others. In other words they all aren’t growing at the same pace, even though they were planted in the same soil at the same time.
Isn’t that true of people spiritually? “And others fell on the good soil and were yielding a crop, some a hundredfold, some sixty, and some thirty.” (Matthew 13:8, LSB)
I praise Yahweh for all the vegetables in my garden and I’m thankful for all the people of God I know too….even if some don’t grow as fast or as tall or bear as much fruit as others!
