A question came up after church on Wednesday night a few weeks ago, and it had to do with the Legacy Standard Bible that we are using in our studies in Genesis. I love the LSB but I come from a very strict KJVO background and as I was unable to answer the question because the KJV is not formatted like this. It was simply not a question I had ever thought about before. The example that was brought up is from Genesis 3, and the question is why is there a format change in verses 14-16 compared to the previous verses? See below for reference.

Interestingly enough, this same formatting style can be found in other versions of the Bible including the New King James Version, but I had never thought to stop and ask why. Thankfully, I pastor a church with people who want to learn and grow and who are not afraid to ask questions. And, I am not afraid to admit when I do not know the answer so I had to tell them I would look it up and get back to them with the answer.
As it turns out, I asked in a Facebook Group (“Legacy Standard Bible Fan Group”) and got the answer back right away. I am sharing these answers here for my readers in case you might also be wondering the same thing:
