If you have been a reader here for any length of time, thank you. Truly. This little corner of the internet has been a place for me to think out loud about Scripture, the church, Bible translations, books, and the life of a small-country pastor in southeast Georgia. I have no plans to take any of it down.
But I want to let you know where the bulk of my writing is going to live from now on.
Over the past 5 years, the Lord has given me the joy of pastoring Sovereign Grace Baptist Church here in Brunswick. As part of that work, we have built out a proper articles page on the church website:
www.sgbcbrunswick.com/articles.html
That page is now where I am posting most of my new written work. There are several reasons for the move.
It is tied to the preaching. Many of the articles are written companions to sermons I have preached at Sovereign Grace. The sermon and the article belong together. The article lets the listener slow down, mark up the text, and come back to a passage I covered weeks earlier. On the new page, every article that pairs with a sermon links straight to the audio.
It is organized by series. The articles are grouped into sermon series and topical series, so a reader who wants to work through, say, a study of a particular book or doctrine can do that without hunting through years of unrelated blog posts.
It is searchable and easier to share. Each article has a clean URL, proper meta descriptions, and shows up well on social media. That matters because the goal is not to build up a blog. The goal is to put solid material in the hands of God’s people.
It belongs to the church. The blog has always been “the views here are entirely my own.” The articles page is the writing ministry of Sovereign Grace Baptist Church. That is a better home for sermon-tied teaching than a personal blog.
None of this means the blog is closing. I will still post here from time to time — particularly the kind of personal observations and short pieces that have always lived here. But if you want to keep up with the meat of what I am writing, the church site is the place to bookmark.
Two simple things to do:
- Visit www.sgbcbrunswick.com/articles.html and have a look around.
- If you find an article helpful, pass it along to a friend who might benefit.
Thank you, as always, for reading. May the Lord bless you in His Word.
For the cause of God and truth,
Pastor David Green
