When anything happens in Israel, I do enjoy learning the eschatology of my friends and followers on social media…. even when it is something I disagree with. This time around, it seems like the volume is way up and I’m not sure whether some of y’all are angrier with the Jews or the dispensationalists. No doubt there are some terrible Jews (just like there are terrible Gentiles) and there are some strange dispensationalists (just like there are strange people in every camp).
Replacement theology is a major part of reformed theology, so maybe I understand the passion on the subject even though I very much disagree with it. However, long before Scofield or Darbey there were Baptist men and even Reformed men who took the Bible literally and believed that God was not finished with the Jews per the promises given to them.
There are heresies out there we must fight, but taking Yahweh’s promises to Israel literal is not one of them. As I was looking through Logos Bible Software at some of my own resources, I saw this page on Facebook. I lost who posted it but I am sharing it here. I ask all who are interested in this subject read through these quotes and examine the Scriptures on the subject. Even if you come away with a different conclusion, understand some giants of the past held to the same position others hold to today. At least show some respect for the brethren, for the cause of Christ and furtherance of the gospel.
