There are an often many different angles to preach a text and still be obedient to the text. That’s how we preachers never exhaust the Bible when we preach (or we would exhaust our hearers!).
Take the first book of the Bible, Genesis. I’m currently preaching through it on Wednesday nights. It’s a foundational book. Most of my sermons so far have been more of an apologetic type sermon – defending the faith and the accuracy of the Bible. This is definitely needed in this age of evolutionary thinking.

However, on Wednesday nights (now that it’s warmer) we go preach in the parks. As we do, I’m going to back to some of the texts we have already covered to preach sermons that have more of an emphasis on the preaching of the gospel.
Wherever you are, if your pastor announces a text you’ve heard him preach from before, don’t assume it’s the same sermon, especially if he’s faithful to the text. And even if it is, pay attention anyway… maybe you might hear something you missed last time.
Preachers, be encourages to preach the text. Everyone else, pay attention with open ears and open Bibles. God will bless y’all.
